Angler food?

Are ghost shrimp a healthly source of food for a small angler? I'd like to ween her onto frozen silversides but for now she's eating live ghost shrimp. If I'm unable to get her to eat frozen foods, will ghost shrimp be nutritious enough for her to be healthy?

No. It is imperative you ween it off the ghost shrimp. If you can only get it to feed on live foods, it has to be saltwater feeders. Anglers tend not to live long even in the best circumstances.

gut load (feed nutritiously) your shrimp before you feed the angler. (like give them cyclopeeze before you give them to angler)

That's exactly what I've been doing.

The silversides are pretty imperative. Keep trying them without question. Until he takes them keep going with the gut loaded shrimp. One important thing is variety. Try anything you can that would be nutrituous. Just keep trying.

ghost shrimp are not a bad food for anglers. as mentioned, gut load. try to offer as much variety as you can. I've kept anglers for over three years (and counting) so they aren't all that short-lived.
