Angler Question, with pictures!

I got an angler couple weeks ago from DD, and he's been eating like a champ, my question is how much do I feed them? I know that they will over eat and the food can start to break down in their GI track and lead to death that way. I'd like to avoid that. Right now he'll eat whatever I offer on a piece of fishing line.

Also, I know they're not usually active fish, but mine is pretty active wandering about, has its angler out a lot of the time and spends a fair amount of time between the end of the tank and the filter insert near the top. Signs for concern? I don't believe there's a buoyancy issue as he can stay sitting on the bottom without floating up and doesn't have any bumps/odd marks on him.

Any who pictures, they were taken with a camera phone, not the best I know:

I was doing tank work and he was swimming around and ended up perching on my hand, and just hung out there for a bit.

Thanks in advanced.

Pretty little A. striatus, Ashton! In fact, it looks like a SUPER nice specimen.

Your fish may have come in a bit hungry, but you'll find that many anglers will see the "food god" and will "fish" for said person by waving their esca around. As you're finding out, many become pretty tame as long as you simply let them make the first move (it's the same with scorps, IME).

As for frequency, 2 or 3 times a week is fine, and the amount is whatever gives the fish a nice little "belly bulge".

I feed the lions Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and have been feeding him the same time as them, but wasn't sure if they got the belly bulge or not and didn't want to risk over feeding him. I'll feed him a bit more tonight then.

As for fishing for the food god, it works, I'll go and try and take pictures/watch and he'll stop and just sit there. Thanks for the information.
