Animal Adventure in Appleton Has Frags

I'd tap that glass
I stopped in at Animal Adventure last night before grocery shopping at Festival (by College Ave and 441), and low and behold they had a 150 gallon frag tank! I didn't see Spike working, but the lady working there (I believe she was from the Green Bay store also) told me that Spike had been hard at work on the tank, and that even more corals were coming in next week, including Montis and Bubble Corals

They had some frags of red Lobophyllia that was just gorgeous and I think I may run back and get it. They had a couple of acros too that were doing very well.

Just thought people should know that they are carrying frags now.

What kind of prices were they asking for frags?

I didn't look too close at the prices so I can't really say. I think the lobo I wanted was $60, but it was a very very nice one that would have been over $100 online.

I was in there this past Sat. and noticed a marked improvement since my last visit about three weeks ago. Seems as if the 4-sale tanks are nudging the birds for space.

Well I had fun while it lasted!

I was fired last night so get your frags there while they last. I am still quite stunned by the heartless actions of the franchise owner, especially just before the holidays and a week after my first highly successful order & fragging session.

All I can say is that I am still quite perplexed as to why I was fired. I witnessed some of the strangest behavior by an employer I have ever seen and can only attribute that behavior to stress. Its just too bad I had to get caught in the crosshairs and unfortunately become unemployed just in time for the holidays. I never even had a hint that this was going to happen.

I do appreciate the kind support I had from all the local reefers who made my brief stay there an enjoyable one.

Looks like my days as working in the hobby are coming to an end. I sure did learn quite a bit over the years. Although I never really worked in an ideal situation I took pride in always making the best of things and taking great care of all the livestock I was responsible for.

Reef on everyone!

Bummer, sorry to hear that Spike. Odd for a retail operation to not need employees this time of year, probably an indication of something bigger a brew'n with the franchise?

You could be right Scott. Since I started working for the AA franchise at least 3 stores have closed down. It may be just a matter of time before the Appleton store follows. I know this for sure the state of the fishroom is going to decline quickly if he does not hire some qualified employees very soon. I feel bad for all the livestock I ordered. Hopefully the new refugiums will hold up and keep things stable for awhile. I could not even get employees to top off the sumps on my days off. I came into work with pumps in the fuge running dry 2 times last week because they would not do it even after I called in to remind them. When I complained to the owner for the lack of support his comment was "now you know what I have been dealing with."

Nice... Poor management like that made it a bit easier to decide to retire from my job after 13 years!

Too bad, with the new Festival and Lowe's that little mall has been rock'n with traffic. Not that owning or operating a LFS is a easy venture.

"now you know what I have been dealing with."

Seeing as how the owner has a say in who he hires and continues to employ, what kind of a schmuck would you have to be to deal with this to the point where it drives you nutty?
