ive been having this stringy brown algae growing around my frags and making them annoyed and its really an eye sore trying to look at my nice frags grow.

whats a good way to kill it / get it off / or a good reef safe fish that would eat it as a yummy snack? :D

You should fix the reason why it's growing before you try to cover it with a band aid. Tangs eat nuisance algea, some blennies will, hermits will, but none of these will stop it from growing. Nitrates and phosphates are fertilizers for nuisance algea. That's where you should be doing your work. Even if you test a 0 on phosphates and a 0 in nitrates, your tank could still be producing them, but the algea is just sucking it up faster than you can get a reading.

Reduce your feeding,
check your bulbs age,
lower your temp a degree or two,
lower your photo period an hour,
run some good gfo in a gfo reactor,
make sure you have a sufficient skimmer,
increase your flow
keep up on water changes

Do all of these and I'm sure that algea will disappear. Good luck,

Scott

haha people make it sound so EZ :p is there an equality for gfo without an reactor as i do not have one and what is gfo anyway? lol

and can any1 give me any specific fish that r good for helping keep frags clean looking?

is photo period light hours?

over feeding. light. more water movement..

But im still looking for specific fish that would love to lend a extra hand cleaning my frags! i know there out there and people use them, from experience or from just knowledge what fish would lend me that extra hand? but is reef safe in a community tank???
