New and renewal memberships that were paid at the last meeting (12/21) have been updated. Please check your email and/or marineaquarist.org to verify that your account has been taken care of.

Below is a list of new members that paid dues for 2008, but I could not find an account for on the MARS website. Please register for a new account and then send me an email at secretary@marineaquarist.org to let me know I can go in and activate your membership:

B. Neckels
B. Rodemann
K. Fuller
R. Stockett
M. Donaldson
E. Blocksberg
J. Nguyen
K. Larson
K. Unarce
S. Lupa
K. Thompson

These members account's expire at the end of 2007 and still have not registered for an account on the MARS website:

We had a great turnout at the Holiday Party with 48 of our existing 84 members in attendance, plus our 24 new members, for a total of 72 out of 108 members in the back room of Round Table. The room felt a little small. ;)

I will be sending out a reminder to our existing members whose membership renewal is in January. MARS will also be working to obtain a PayPal account in the next month. Stay tuned for more information.

Pete,

Please let us know when Paypal is set up and i will up my dues then!

DITTO!

I think with the ease of PayPal, MARS's membership could swell to a large number.

Hey Pete! I am expired!

I woudl like to square away the dues so I can access the forums on our website. Let me know the best way... Thanks!

PayPal?

As soon as I get our PO Box address I can apply for a PayPal account. I've been asking for a few days, but I still don't have it. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Nope... I'll not go into the details on RC, but I am on top of this. There is a problem that will take some time to work out.

Based upon my success with Paypal today, finally, we should have an active account that can accept payments by next Wednesday, a whole 2 days before the meeting.

Paypal is now active IF YOU PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD.

It MAY still be a few days still if you are using a bank account transfer and I will update this thread when bank account payment is ready.

Please note that this process STILL requires that I manually activate your marineaquarist.org account, once I get an email from PayPal. If for any reason your paypal info doesn't match your marineaquarist.org account info, you'll need to PM or email me.

Who is the payee?

Email address required.

Thanks a lot for your diligence.

Just got through paying through PayPal.

I am guessing that you need to either be a previous member and log in or create a log in name on the MARS website in order to find the MARS store.

Got to the store, put the membership in the cart and go to PayPal to complete. Pretty simple.

But........

$1.03 Shipping and Handling fee?

One year of MARS = $26.03.

Yes, you must have an account on MarineAquarist.org in order to use the shopping cart feature. This means you are a member with an expired membership, or you create a new account.

not the easiest system, but not terribly complicated either

Three points on this:

1. It will be $1.05 in "shipping and handling" as I just updated the site.

2. I can't change the language, but "shipping and handling" is actually the Paypal fee ($.30 + 2.9% of the transaction amount).

3. The board decided to pass the paypal fees on to members in order to help the bottom line stay positive. We have a ton of exciting goals and speakers for this year and every little bit in our very small budget helps. You are always welcome to pay with cash or a check at each meeting.
