Another 125

Well guys/gals I happy to say that I'm in the process of setting up my own 125.
I got the tank from Jermey for dirt cheap .
I'm going to take my time and set this up right. No cutting corners on this one.

I just got done srapping coraline and paint off the sides of the tank.
I'm going to be drilling holes in the bottom of the tank so I can run a MegaFlow Overflow Accessory Kit.
I'm going to be running a 75g for a sump with a Octopus NW-200 Needle-Wheel Protein Skimmer.

Well I will keep everybody posted on the progress of this little project.

Welcome to the 125 club man! I'm glad we could work out a deal like that, i have been downstairs most of the night watching the action in the tanganyikan tank. It's nice having a lot of fish in there, now everyone can't hide all the time.

I have a 40 and 46 in my living room and that still doesn't equal 125

Do you need the megaflow overflow? I have an extra from my 120 that is just sitting on the livingroom floor.

As I said, just have one. I pulled the other out of the tank and ran a closed loop using the existing holes (wish they were bigger, but AGAs are drilled then tempered) and didn't need that much flow to my refugium/sump. Are you needing two?

You're more than welcome to the durso standpipe and return pipe as well (AGA megaflow plumbing kit), I'd like to build my own.

Where would be the best place to get my lighting equipment for my 125? I need everything the ballest, bulbs, reflectors and what ever else I need. I want to run 3- 400 watt MH.

Here is some of the other equipment I plan on getting:
Octopus NW 200 Needle Wheel skimmer
2- #4 Koralia power heads
mag 7 for the return

These are just some of the things that I think I will need to get the tank running. There are other things I plan on getting later down the line like a aqua controler and a calicum reactor but like I said those things I can get later down the road.

I looked at Hello Lights but I wasen't sure on what to get? Like what is the difference between a Electronic and a Magnetic ballist? Are there differnet kinds of end caps?

Ya they said that they had seen you guys. What should I be looking for on hello lights? So if I'm going to be running 400 watt halides should I get a 400 balist?

You need a ballast for each light.
You could go with 3 DIY kits, which would just be a ballast, cap, and bulb, and wiring, then order some Lumenarc Reflectors, just like me.


Like i said, i would hit up matt and see if he can get you a deal from his place.

The dif between mag and electronic ballasts are the magnetic ballasts are big and get real hot, where as the electronic ones are a lot smaller and stay cooler but cost more.

There are 3 250 watt MH's with ballast and reflctors for $300 on the for sale forum.
