I have alot in common with other posters. I had a reef tank years ago with rock from TBS. A leak, mad wife and time constraints put me on the sidelines.
Well I have a brand new tank. 2 weeks ago I received part 1 and could not be happer or more certain that this is the best "live" rock around (I would call the other stuff "seeded").
I got lots of hitchhikerss. 2 mantis. One I caught immediately and now lives in my sump. The other seems impossible (I have tried all sorts of handmade traps). Culey Cue anenomies, which I am leaving, all sorts of tubes and filter feeders, something that looks like a frilly mushroom polyp, sponges, whelks, macroalgea, etc.
My only disappointment was I got 4 small crabs. One was a Red Mithranx... I did not ID the others. I found them all dead the second day. My water parameters were always in great shape (very light cycle), so I suspect they either got injured in shipping or due to the rough acclimation.
But the rock is fantastic and arrives full of live and biodiversity. Now cant wait until part 2.
