Another 40B build.

Got some of my rock, about 50 gallons of RO water( Thanks Vpham97 ) some salt mix and started getting this thing going. I've still got probably another 4-6 gallons left for the tank then 10-15 for the sump. It looks real yellow in the pictures because of the light in the room.

Got the tank setup, the overflow was driving me absolutely crazy so I swapped the 90 coming off the back with a T and it made a world of difference.

With the original 90°

All filled up and cycling. Temp is right now at 75° and SG at 1.023

Well, I really didn't have too much of a cycle since I used alot of water from current tank and almost all of the rock. Ammonia and Nitrite levels are undetectable. So I added my pair of clowns to the tank and moved the rock around a little bit. Also got my ATO in, it's nothing fancy, just a simple gravity fed float valve hooked to a 5g jug. I am also hanging my lights tonight :-)

Yeah it's an eshopps. Only $30 shipped to my door. I'll eventually think about adding a tunze ATO when I feel like dishing out $200+. The water levels are perfect. It was kind of like I just did a big water change since I used all of my old rock, some sand and most of the water. I've basically got everything in there, my pair of clowns, snails and my peppermint shrimp, I may have jumped the gun slightly but I felt the levels were fine plus, my 20g devoloped a tiny leak and I was sick of it.
Ammonia-0ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate-5-10ppn( which is fine for me)
Temp-77-78° F
SG-1.022, I am slowly raising that up to 1.025

Here Roger. Those are with 120° optics. I might order some 90° optics in a few weeks to get a little more penetration.

I just set up the same top off on mine works great. Looks like its coming along nicely. I moved my stock over quickly as well when i upgraded and didnt have any issues. Keep posting your progress!

I added everything over a week period. I started with the fish then the corals. I never really had much of a cycle when I switched over so I would just keep an eye on your levels and go by that. You mentioned that you still had mid level nitrates so depending on what type corals you have and if they can handle them at that level. If its all softies you are probably ok.

Yeah for now it's primarily zoas and other softies. Added one my colonies just now and it opened up quite quick. I guess we'll see.

Switched the aquascape up. Because I'm insane and will never be happy with anything. Also picked up a few things for the fuge, sand, caulerpa algae and a bottle bottle of copepods, light etc. I need to get another time so I am not having to unplug the lights whenever I want to switch from the main light to the fuge light.

Still a little cloudy from adding sand to the fuge.
