I want to just buy one/two powerheads for the whole tank.....would i be better getting two seio 1500 or one 2600....eventually i want to just make this with shrooms and the easy stuff.....so i think flow is not that big of a issue....i just want to get all of the powerheads out....i do have the emperor on the bank and then the flow comming from the sump....thanks for the comments

FavaBean, if you only plan on keeping mushrooms and other softies, you could get away with two 820's. Either way, I would put in two pumps instead of one as you get a better random flow pattern by the two pushing water into each other. One other thing, the 1500 and 2600 are quite large in case you have never seen one.

yes I have seen one of them konadog.......I just want good water movement and I would like two seios and do the mod for them and put them in the corners facing each other.....Thank you....anyone else with advice?

Andrew.....so you would get two 1100 and put them facing each other in different corners? kinda confused about your statement

Well, Ive got 2 620s in my 75 and plan on adding anthor 620 to have enough flow. Even 2- 820's would be good or 2-1100's.

FavaBean, I had two 820's in my 100 and thought it worked OK, for your 55, it should be great.

i have a 55 gallon fbh and have a 1500 and an 1100 at each corner. great random flow. i also have 2 mj1200 at the middle point to the back corners because the corners are detritus magnets due to then being dead spots. i like the results. hth.

stelow......i have no clue what size it is....all i know is that it can push the water back up to the main tank....I am fixin to use a 29 gallon for my sump/fuge....thanks for everyone's help....can i see some pictures of yall's 55 gallon and how yalls pumps are set up

I would get the 2 1100's, they use a lot less watts than the 1500's, and only a little more watts than the 820's. It is a much wider water stream that comes out of them, so you don't see the direct current like on the smaller direct power heads, but you do get much better overall flow. You could easily even go with the 2 820's and you would still be pusing 29 times your tanks water volume and the 820's are smaller than the 1100's.

Just be carefull though, they don't like to start back up after a power outage, even a quick one where the power goes off for a second or two and then back on. I have 2 Seio's and 2 MJ 900's in my tank, so incase of a power outage, the MaxiJet 900's kick right back on with no problem which keeps some movement in case I am at work still.

Make them easy to get at incase of the power outage, you just give them a good wrap on your palm once or twice under the water and they kick back on.

Also make sure you run them tunze style, to get the most flow out of them and take up less space.
