Another aussie reef tank

Been a long time since updates.
Tank has had ups and downs. Fitted new maxspect gyre so will see how that goes. Apex is going well controlling basics for now
Recent pics from the weekend.

Had the Masov meet on the weekend. Fantastic turn out, with plenty of new members which was great. Some nice discussions about Masov direction and exciting upcoming events. I was lucky enough to have some people who know how to use a good camera so here are the picks.
The new dragon pump is in, aswell as the maxspect gyre 130 (still in break in stage) pump stopped 24hrs after it went in.

Your tank is looking really good! I'm glad you got past the troubles and appear to be on a good run. The height of your stand is really cool as well. No hunching over to look into your tank.

I see some filtration changes there.

Change of bio pellets??

and No GFO and carbon anymore??

Can you go through the reasons.

Thanks mate, yes I'm very happy with the 1.1mtr height. Better viewing stance hahah

Buopellets are the all in one pellets to try reduce some phos, I seem to have very high phosphate now that the tanks a bit older. 0.18ppm was last week. Have brought it down with some lanth to 0.11ppm.
I won the speedy pump and don't have enough room for the carbon/ gfo reactors. Removed the uv while I was changing the pump. Trying to simplify things, back to basics. I was getting to the point of so many additions I didn't know what did what.

Mr Freddie jokes on u. All this coral is painted statues from the local markets, the ones you do as a kid! :lmao::lmao:

Nice! Had some good growth, I see some of the big thick acros didn't grow much at all. Were they wild? What species are they? They are so thick it will look nice when they take off!

ever try to collect your own corals? I know it's illegal but if I live in Australia I probably take a dive in a middle of a night to collect some corals even if white sharks are in the water....:-)

Unfortunately lost the moorish in a power out, was a bad morning waking up to all the dead fish.

Stags seem to grow very thick and strong in my tank. Much slower than a lot of others
Oh god that's my worst nightmare. Sorry to hear that. Hope its going all well noww.

I Had a powercut during some decorations a few weeks ago. Had to run a series of extension leads about 50ms worth to the neighbours. im almost certain (potentially) it was more stressful on me than the fish!!
