Dejavu, I got skimmer with or2500 with regular impeller no needle wheel.
haha, odd! if it's a screw up and you're supposed to have the needlewheel do you want to help a brother out if they send you a new one? I'd be happy to offer you a few bucks for it.

I'm debating turning my frag tank into a cryptic fuge like yours. My few zoanthid frags down there just don't justify a stand along frag tank. What do you think about yours? Do you think it's a potential nitrate factory or do the little critters in there help out? I've got some reading to do, but any guidance you could offer would be of great help as well.

Cody, I will help you out. I will post few pictures of refugium tommorow. It is pretty clean. I don't think it will be nitrate factory. I had it for a month, no changes in nitrate level.

Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing the pics in addition to the ones you've already posted.

Cody, here we go

As You can see, it is pretty clean. No algae, no cyano, no pockets of hydrogen sulfate in DSB. Also a lot of sponge on live rock are starting to develop.

Looking good. Great shots as always. Tagging along.

Thank You.

As I mention earlier, I wasn't real happy with my rockwork. It just didn't do much for me. So here my new attempt and new design. Still in process:D

Suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated

I like the arch look a lot. The only thing I'd possibly change is try and make the bases a little more substantial, but that's just personal preference and taste.

thanks for the pics. I emptied my frag tank of zoa frags and vacuumed out all the detritus that accumulated in there over time. i added about 15-20lbs of LR (dry, so it has to seed) stacked with A LOT of space between each rock. There's a K1 on one side to keep a little flow, but it's not much, especially with all the rock. Hopefully I get a good bit of invert growth in there. If anything, the LR will bring added filtration.

What do you think about adding a red light to the fuge area? I know some deep sea oragnisms can't see red light and that people use red filtered flashlights to check out the nocturnal life in their tanks with little critter disturbance. Do you think it would in inhibit cryptic sponge growth?

Exactly what I thought. More LR won't hurt it:D

Shouldn't cause any trouble.

Thanks! He's one of three. We have another Indian Ringneck just like him and an African Grey.

What did you use to attach the arch rocks?

Cement.

Mag drive has been refusing to restart every time after power loss. I've been looking for a pump to replace it. I was torn between Tunze and Eheim, but...

This is a pump I got. Sicce syncra 4.0. 950gph at 80w. I have sicce pump on skimmer and it is great pump, great quality and pretty quiet. After seing Syncra I made my choice.

Pump is great, extremly quiet and runs cool. Sicce gets five stars for Syncra line:D
