Another Custom Stand Construction Thread- 120 Gal.

Thanks guys. My tank just turned 3 years old this month! Doesn't seem that long ago that I was slaving away in my shop in this stand.

Mario,
Sorry if you answered this already...

I speed read through this thread and found references to but no actual information on the dimensions of your stand other than the height... Would you mind posting the dimensions for it? Including the overall length/width of the top of the stand? I am wanting to do something similar and need to gin up the build docs.

Thanks!

My tank is 48 X 24. The stand extends about 3 inches on both sides so it is approximately 54" wide and 27" from front to back. HTH

Rich,

Still need to build doors, and stain..

nice work

nice work

I just finished construction on the stand for my 120 gallon tank. It is made of maple and will be stained cherry to match my bar. Raised panel doors will be ordered for the front and sides.

I have pics of the entire construction process if anyone is interested.

After a long distraction, I'm finally cutting wood and designing my stand and canopy. I'll post tomorrow some of the details on my build thread here:

I'm trying to figure out which pocket drill jig to buy and unfortunately all the links in the thread are 4-5 years old and the links no longer work. I bought a "General" brand jig from the HD, and it sucks because it doesn't allow you to move the "intersection" point based on differing thickness of materials. If anyone else reads this, don't buy this one! :

So after I return the above crappy one, I plan on buying a Kreg unit, and I'm thinking this is the one I want, but any input from those who have used these before would be great. Is this the one everyone was buying? The next one up costs $139...
