(Another) DIY LED Controller - Simple Arduino Style

Transistor should be able to hold apropriate current. For really smal fan its ok. But hey , whats wrong with relay ?

hi guys everithing is working with my reefninja sketch exept pwn signal fails.
The lcd gives the proper values, but my leds won't dim.

Got the wires on port 3 and 11.

Anyone got a idea?

if i disconect the wires between the arduino and the 2n2222, middle leg the leds keeps on.

Please help me out.

Grtz Ralph

Usually if you disconnect PWM - leds should go down. This means something else is wrong, not the arduino. Check leds wiring and driver.

Sorry I cant help you since you are using a different sketch... But let me try...

You need to tell us what kind of hardware you have. Is it super identical to mine? (1st page) Or did you change some?

Is the wiring very similar or identical to image below??? (please ignore pin no 2, havent change that to 3)

I have the same hardware as you except my screen is 16x2 without buttons. I havent used any pots between the adapter and the arduino, but that would not be a problem. would it?

Im not sure what brand of transistor you have... can you double check the E B C marks on it? or also if you have a different transistor that you can use instead.

Muda is correct, if you removed the connection from 11 or 3, it the led should go off.

I will try this tomorrow, i am from the netherlands, so its 1:30 at night right now. was a long day. Tx for the input. Will post my findings soon. Keep this post up you guys, its great.

I am working with katchupoy's sketch, I added a double pull double throw switch for manual control, 20x4 LCD and a ka7810 voltage regulator to get the 10Volts. If I have the 2n2222 wired right, I can finish the wiring.

int photoperiod = 240 ; // amount of time array is on at full power in minutes
int ontime = 10 ; // time of day (hour, 24h clock) to begin photoperiod fade in
int blue = 3; // blue LEDs connected to digital pin 3 (pwm)
int white = 11;

How do I set the time at 10:15 instead 10?

I have a unit for sale guys pm me if interested I didnt skimp on this at all its a REAL arduino not a clone as far as I was told.

pm me for info I am located near Chicago IL and will ship if need be. this isnt 100% finished I still need to get the proper screws for the LCD also can get another top and cut a better hole this was my test to see if it would all fit and its like a glove just not OJ's lol

I really hate when someone contacts you saying they need a few and then stop answering calls txts and messages. His loss your gain.

I am interested can you pm me please

Looking at getting my 120g DIY LED started probably have in the neighborhood of 72-80 LED's and was hoping to limit the LED drivers to 2-3 instead of running like 6. What are the options out there for running more than 12-16 LEDs and still compatible with the arduino outputs?

I would look at increasing the current and running in parallel as opposed to increasing the voltage and having a longer string. The risk of death (at least as I understand) is greatly increased when voltages are over 50 volts. This does not mean you can't use higher voltage, but extra safety precautions must be taken.

Please do not advertise on this thread - I would hate to see it shut down.

Hi I just ordered my leds form rapid .I got the 48 24 white and 24 blue with 4 mean well ELN-60-48D .I would like to add another 12 rgb leds 3w but I cannot figure out if I need an other driver and if yes can someone put down a small scatch on how to wire it .I will be ordering the arduino Atmega 1280 to run the above items .
