another ich ?

Ok so its not for me, but my cousin. He has had a domino damsel for ill say month and half so far, he was fine. Then he bought a yellow tang about 2 weeks ago at most. 2 days ago he bought, a shrimp a peice of LR and I brought him over a hermit. I was checking out his fish whenI noticed it.

His damsel has like a spot on his nose area, like a cyst i guess. And he has lots of tiny white dots all over him??? Is this ich or something else. the tang isnt showing signs of anything... Oh and it looks like something has been nipping away at the damsels lower fins??? but he and the tang are best buds.

I can't be sure from your description. You need to compare symptoms and appearances to get a good diagnosis.

Marine Ich usually looks like white spots about the size of a grain of table salt.

yeah ive seen it like at the local store before. While they were qt their fish.

But his seems to be much smaller than a grain of salt. or from what ive seen on other fish.

The 'other' White Spot disease is Marine Velvet. Those spots are hard to see and appear like a dusting of talc or powdered sugar. Sometimes, so close together, they give the fish a sheen.

The cure of choice for Marine Velvet is a copper treatment. You'll find several threads in this Forum discussing that treatment.

MV kills and spreads quickly (like in hours).

hmm, maybe thats not it then. His damsel has had it for like a week now. w/e it is. It hasnt spread to his other fish either??
