Another "Is Tank Safe on this Stand" Thread?????

So I bought this 90 gallon tank, custom stand and canopy off of craigslist. It had been up and running for 3-4 years. I sold the old tank and purchased a new one. With this stand the tank is not supported around the entire rim of the tank. The corners and sides are supported but there is a 24 inches on the front and 2O inches in the back. What do you think? TIA

Im not sure exactly on your current situation but I had a 150 on a iron stand that just had vertical legs on the four corners and angle iron pieces running the length of it. So i know angle iron is strong but thats a 6 foot span unsupported so i doubt it was supporting a ton of load in the center. That tank ran for 10 years without issue

And here is a pic of the bottom

I don't know what your question is exactly, or what that pic is supposed to be/show, but I can tell you the entire perimeter of any tank needs to be supported on trimless tanks and at 4 corners on trimmed tanks.
Maybe you can add some more detail or clarify what the issue may be.

Ah, so your tank sits inside that rim and there is no rim at front and back center.
On a trimmed tank that is supposed to be ok according to most manufacturers.

Yeah it probably would hold but unless a tank is specificaly designed for that i wouldn't chance it. Just throw some bracing in there.

Yeah, while it is supposed to be safe that just never sits well w/ me personally, I don't see a need for it to not be there and too easy to correct.

Yea honestly I would put some braces at the front and the back to allow the tank to be supported all the way around. The last thing you want is to go the easy route and regret it later down the road. Even though throwing two braces on there would actually be pretty easy

What I would probably do is add ply where it is missing, so looking at that 2nd to last pic I would continue that rim seat where it would go above the doors w/ 3 or 4" strips of ply flush w/ what is already there.
Do that front and back, and you could throw in a brace like that one that spans front to back in that same pic, if you have material and the want, but that may not be a must.
It's kind of hard to judge these sometimes just by pics on how sturdy it may be, so I lean towards going that extra when sight unseen.
