Another lighting question

I am wanting to add some actinic supplement to my current 250w 20k MH. I can not use T5 because of space restrictions, so I was thinking of using 2 28w PCs that are 12.5" long.

Do you think that will add a noticable amount of blue light up against the MH?

Also I have a workhorse 5 ballast that was used on 2 55w PCs. Am I correct thinking it will fire the lower wattage bulbs without problems? Will it overdrive them so to speak?

I think the two 28 watt PCs will only be a marginal boost in actinic. You may not see much of a difference.

Against the 20k bulb, you probably won't be able to tell a difference, but adding the actinics will allow you to give a better "dawn/dusk" effect with your lighting.
