Another LPS concern...

Bought this frag and didn't notice what happened in one of the heads... at the bottom left...

can anyone help me out on this...
the frag was crammed with other frags as the petshop was moving, i thought maybe could have been a hammer or frogspawn close to it... or could it be a parasite? anyways i dip it before adding it to the tank with brightwells medicoral dip for 8 minutes...

Looks like the mouth is still the so you may be ok, I can't tell from the pic what happened to it.... All the other heads look fine.

Awesome looking candy cane, it looks like it just got buried in the sand or got stung by some other coral. To me it does not look like a parasite or infection, it should be just fine!

If it was actively infected there would be white skeleton evident ; I can't see any in the picture. The necrosis seems to have stopped a while ago on this one and it seems to have survived the damage. If it was actively infected, I'd frag it off and remove it from the tank.

From the pic, it looks like an old wound. The Skelton isn't white like it would be if it just happened. That being said, it's made it this long it should be ok.
