Another UFO! ID help, please?

Today, my g/f found this little guy in my tank. He was hiding under the mushroom in the center of the pic. The mushroom was fully open and under no apparent stress at all. In the pic, the mushroom is rather closed up since I was using a wooden dowel to lift the edge of the 'shroom and get the picture.

This thing is white and a little fuzzy-looking around the edges. Down the center of it's back, there appears to be a ridge of overlapping, triangular scales. Overall length is about half and inch, maybe a little more.
I haven't added any rock to this tank since it was given to me 4 months ago, so I don't think this is a new hitchhiker. I've never noticed anything damaged or missing, as far as corals or good inverts. This thing is most certainly motile, as it had moved about 5 inches in the time between lunch and dinner.

So, can anybody tell me what this thing is? I really hope it's not harmful, but it does appear that it would be easy to catch.

Thanks! I love this forum.
I was hoping for a specific scientific name, but I googled "Chiton", and now I realize this would be basically impossible.
It always amazes me how, after 3 months of staring into my tank for literally an hour or more each day, I'm still finding new life.

Its a Chiton, most species that hitch hike into our tanks are harmless herbivores.
