Another wavebox question...

Hello... I have recently started looking into wave/current makers and came across the info for the Wavebox. I tried looking at some of the videos on this site, but most of the links don't seem to work anymore. Are there any working links showing the wavebox working?

Anyway... my question... I have a 150gal tank, 72x18x28. I currently have to hangon overflows attached to back of the tank, approx 2 feet from each end, and so about 2 feet apart. Partly I have to two as insurance that my tank doesn't overflow, and partly just seemed like a good idea at the time. From what I've read about the Wavebox, it is best to have a central overflow if possible. Well, I would prefer to not replumb everthing at this point.

So, I guess my question is, how will having those two overflows affect the function of the Wavebox, and how will the Wavebox affect the overflows - noise and funciton. From the post, seems like the Wavebox has enough noise of its own? Also, the water in my tank generally about an inch or so from the top of the tank. How much of a problem will that turn out to be?

Though the Wavebox sounds cool, I'm wondering if I would be better off with one of the streams or other pumps...?

I think your overflows would be fine, such a tank would likely have a wave about 1.5" high. The wavebox works best in combination with other pumps that create directional flow. The wavebox is really not that noisy, the noise issue is the splashing water and extra overflow noise.

Gerat... thanks for the info... I will have to think about the 1.5" wave height, and also the info I have read about shortening the tank life due to the motoin. I live in a wood house that is about 3 feet off the ground, and before I put in the tank I added extra supports under the living room floor just in case (the house itsself is about 50yr old). The thought of the whole tank "rocking" back and forth in the middle of the livingroom is a little unnerving.
