another zoa dip gone bad?

Just did a FW zoa dip..after about 5min,I noticed the zoa's turned extremely white and even transparent.I removed them asap and placed them in my zoa tank.I've never seen them do this before,all my others I've dipped just closed for a while.Does this sound normal?They are also very "puffy" right now.I hope they are just stressed.I don't think a 5min dip would kill them?Allthough,I did have a ton of nudi's fall off.I guess thats the upside.

If you saw a bunch of nudis fall off, the colony is likely to be full of spiral egg casings that were not harmed by the dip and will probably hatch in couple weeks. Look on the sides of the polyps for white dots forming a spiral shape. It would be best to quarantine that rock just to be safe even if you think you got all the eggs off. Hope the zoanthids pull through for you. Good luck.

where did you get those zoas from.. i would QT them and dip in tropic marin pro coral cure... i am not a big fan of FW dipping corals.. i only do that to fish...

I've never had them turn a puffy white color. I would recommend QT them to be safe.

I did find a few egg clutches which I removed..I just hope I got them all.The zoa's were already opening up this morning when I looked in there.Even the zoa's that were all puffed up are calming down and opening up.
