I'm not real familiar with the species but just got my first one I kno he's male but wanted to know species lyretail maybe?

Where it was from petco I should of looked him over better but my gf picked him out. Do you think it will spread to my other fish or just stay on him and hopefully clear up now that he's in a well established tank with correct parameters.

Ick is highly a contagious parasite , it can easily spread to other fish in your display tank. I would set up a quarantine tank and treat the fish with cupramine
