I believe that is a male. Females do not have the red bar.

Nope they aren't them at all, they are truncate anthias i have a pair they look exactly the same, males and females are the same colour.

They might not be as bright as that one, as mine aren't either, but thats what it is.

It is a young male rubrizonatus.

Truncatus does not have a red bar on the body. The red spot on truncatus and hypselosoma is on the dorsal.

Just checked...

Three of them have really red mark on the side while two are very light. All males?

i believe mine to have been a male
