Pseudoanthias Evansi...
i purchased this anthias from my lfs and i really want to get 2 more to have a pair of three but the lfs only had 2 there and he "said" they were both males and the only name they had for it was a "yellow tail" anthias. any help would be much appreciated.:bounce2:

While yellowtail anthias is a common name for evansi, that isn't one. Tough to tell in the pic... could be dispar, maybe bartlett?

thank you for the quick replies, im still not sure myself. iv been thinking he is maybe an evansi myself, but he is mostly yellow starting under the eye were other evansi's are mostly purple with yellow on top, also id like to add if you cant see it in the photo that he has a fine purple line that goes around his tail fine and dorsal fins, so if he was an evansi.. would it be possible to get 2 other enavsi's and one would become the male?

It's definitely not an evansi. But, to answer your question, yes, if you get more, at least one will turn male, regardless of what species they are.

now that iv looked at at least 100 pics of anthias, i think its a bartletts female. the pic on live aquaria was throwing me off a bit a first thanks for the help!

If they are Bartlett's, I wouldn't get more...they tend to be very aggressive, and tend to all turn male...
