Anthias question

Since seeing reefkoi's tank with that school of anthias he has, Im thinking maybe I should add maybe 4 or 5 of them when my new 150 gets up and running(whenever that may be). What are the requirments for these guys? Do they really need a 2-3 times a day feeding? If so how much and what type? Are they a PITA to keep? Please, post your experience and thoughts about them. TIA!

I do sometimes feed 304 times a day, that may be as simple as dropping in some pellets while I'm watching the corals grow, then squirting in some arctipods then some seaveggies (which they dont eat, only the tangs)
Some days they may only get 1 feeding.
So i think it's not a PITA like you'd think. That idea detered me for a long time from getting them. Finally I broke down and bought some.
I can't wait to see the type Cliff got, they sound very nice looking.

Wow I wish I had that kind of time on my hands:D

Hmmm, Its not practical for me to feed them 304 times a day. LOL! I can feed 1X a day. Or maybe get an auto feeder and load it with pellets and freeze dried cyclopeeze I guess should work. I mean, they dont need frozen food all the times do they?

No I think an auto feeder would work good, mine love pellets.
If you check into an auto feeder and get one let me know how it works I love the idea.
I have heard horror stories of the things jammin and dumping all the pellets at once and polluting the tank so bad it crashed.
If it were me I'd put in 2 days worth at a time to make sure it wouldn't kill the tank if it all went in at once.

You do have that much time on your hands based on all the photos and posting you do here Tim !!!!!!!!!!!!

I only feed my tank twice a day and in the morning it is just seaweed. My Lyretail Anthias have been thriving for over 8 months. Some Anthias require more feedings and are harder to maintain while others are easy, like Lyretail and Disbar.

I am going to put 20 Pseudanthias squamipinnis (lyretail) in my 155 gallon. I keep my fish fat and happy, but I don't feed them as much as you might think. My 125 only gets feed a couple times a week, and even my yellow tang (that I added very thin) is now fat.

I think it could me more of a "what they eat" versus how much they eat question.
Feed them smartly and I bet we can get away with less.

hmmm get's me thinking
