Anthias recommendation

I have a 75g mixed reef, currently have a tomini tang, 3 chromis, scooter dragonette and watchman goby (might be pulling him soon if I can catch him). I want to get an anthias, I usually see them in groups and read about how they do well in groups. I do plan on upgrading to a 125-180 in the next year or so, but I try to stick to the rule of buying for the tank you have not the tank you want. Since I dont want to overstock my 75 I am thinking of a single male and then later on when I do upgrade maybe adding a few females. The three I am looking at are the lyretail, squareback, and the bartlet. Out of those three which will do the best alone? Thanks for the input.

I read that it's better to get females/sub adults and introduce them at the same time. and Lyretails are probably the easiest to keep. if you get one now and introduce females later they might get harassed.

I'd get a Lyretail because they aren't as aggressive as bartletts. Bartletts tend to turn all male too but I think if you have a 5 female to 1 male then it should be fine. Squarebacks get to big and female lyretails look better then female squarebacks imo. It is best to start off with all female if you're planning a shoal of them.

Based on the fish you have in the tank now I see no reason why you can't add a small group and not just one.

My vote is for lyretails.

Lobster, I had a few other fish on my wish list but I am thinking about pulling those with the thought of putting a trio of lyretails in. I have good balance of rock, enough to have plenty of hiding spaces but very open for good swimming room.
