Anthias Suggestions Please - Schooling

I am ready to add some schooling Anthias to my 90gal. I have narrowed it down to either Threadfin or Bartlett due to the smaller size and color. If anyone has these, I would be "very interested" to hear how they are doing -or- if you would suggested a different variety due to your experience. I know a couple people in OC have these, but I don't remember who they are. If you have any suggestions/comments I would love to hear them all. Also, where is a good place (LFS) to look for these??

Thanks in advance!
Irene

i had bartletts in my custom 90 (36L x 30D x 20H) and they never schooled. they actually ended up trying to dominate each other. i added them to my 240 and they exhibited some schooling characteristics but still not what i had hoped for.

Do you still have them in your 240 - do they all get along - do you still have all of them?

After thinking about it ..... schooling is NOT what I am interested in - wish I didn't mention it !!

Moderator/anyone: what does "open this post in a new window mean"? Can I move this and omit the word schooling??

Open post in new window means it opens a new browser window. Edit/delete allows you to edit (but not delete, go figure), but only for an hour after your post.

Bartlett's are one of the better choices for aquariums. They are a bit hardier then most available.

thead fin and bartletts are both very hardy and will school if larger aggresive fish are around. Make sure you get them when they are small. Make sure they are fed 3 times a day and with a ton of diff variet of food untill they start to eat. Once you get them to eat your set, they are hardy once they beging to eat. They are very agresive eaters once established. Key is getting them to eat, then your home free. Also anthias must have a pecking order reguardless of male or female. They will fight untill this is established. If you have two males then its a fight till the end. Best bet would be to get a few small anthias and let them adjust establish a pecking order from then there on out. Dont purchase a male because you never know when a smaller fish is tranforming or not then you will be stuck with two males. Good luck!

lyertail are nice i have a male and 3 females in my 180 they hang out together but i dont know if its a typical school they often go off and do there own things too

in the beginning the females fought for heirarchy and now they are fine

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have researched all the suggestions and others and have decided on Bartletts. Does anyone know who (LFS) might have a good supply/selection of these? If so, I would be very interested.
Thank you all for you replies!
Irene
