Any 180g with t5's?

Thought i'd try it here. I am planning on upgrading to 180g but want to use t5's. Any opinions or recomendation on wich t5's to use for a 6x2x2 180g sps tank?

Check out the ATI Powermodules. I have the 8 bulb 60" on my 72x24x30 and am really happy with it.

Are you able to keep sps everywhere and also how are you able to cover the end of the tank with the 60" PM?


I was planning on getting the 60" 8x80w sunpower that reefgeek has.

I have the 72" 12 bulb AquaticLife T5 fixture on my 220g right now that is about 9 months old.

Works great with the built in timers, fans, and moonlights. I'm doing a DIY LED fixture next so I am looking to sell it soon. Shoot me a PM if your interested.

I'd retro it with some icecap or new vue 660 ballast. 6 x 80w bulbs or even 8 x 80w bulbs would look nice.

I had a 72" Aquatinics Constellation. Great fixture. It has active cooling, individual reflectors, and the 14 bulbs are split across three switches, so you can get the "dawn to dusk" set up.

I am strongly debating going with 4 ATI units on my 400+ gallon system. I have been a huge fan of halides for many years but do not think you can beat the color of corals under T5. The bulb replacements will be spicy but it is the centerpiece of the lower floor so I think it is worth it. I am going with the SunPower. 2 4 bulb 48 fixtures and 2 6 bulb 48" fixtures. I keep a mixed reef with a ton of SPS.

i am not planning on using a canopy so fixtures are my best bet. Anyone know if the ati sunpower 8x80 watt t5s would be enough light to cover a 6x2x2 tank and keep sps?

I run the ATI 8x80 PM over a 6x2x2 as well. I keep LPS and lower light-requiring SPS on the sides.
