As far as lighting goes does anybody have any lighting recomendations? The tank is 24" deep I have a 250 pfo hqi on it.
I have another sitting there should I double up?

How long is the tank?

And what type of carpet? gigantea, haddoni, or mertensii ? Each have different requirements.

I have a blue Haddoni in my 58 under 2*175 MH + 2*96 PC.

Alright here it goes! I took 45 min aclimating him when I put him in he stuck to my arm a burnt me all to he**! AFTER 2 MIN HE LET GO! Now after about 1.5 hours he was diggin in looking great ,alright he is going to make it! 3 hours later his mouth was 3 inchs wide with gut pack showing, half way inside out ! Now I have kept saltwater since about 1996 work at a shop for 4.5 years and a local wholesaler for a short time. Every fiber of my being said THROW HIM OUT!!!! Thankfully I said lets just see what he does lights kicked of looked the same! Now I woke up every hour and checked on him looked the same! finally about 4 am I just went lights out. So I woke up about 8:30 lights just kicked on a half hour earlier ,to my suprise the inside out purple looked like he has been there for a couple years!!!! Now for those of you that have keeped purples, blues, reds have any of you seen any act this way?

I think the 45 min was WAY to fast. I would not even drop a fish after 45 min, let alone a anemone. Just make sure your prams are good and hope for the best.

My water was spot on otherwise I would not even attempt such a depanding species! The water temp was 76 in the bag and the tank was at 77. At the same time he went straight from the wholesalers box to my tank after I pick him up from the local shop!

Uh.... you keep your reef at 77? Some anemones can take a few days to weeks to fully acclimate. I do think direct with no LFS interaction is good. Unless you can get one thats been at the LFS for quite some time.

At the price I paid people would line up at the door!!!! The tank ranges from 74 -77 max! I have had chillers to keep everything stable but one fluke and everything takes a hit !
