any chance this is superman monti? (pic)

picked this up at the LFS, sold to me as superman monti. the colors in the pic are representative of reality. i could see the body darkening up but the polyps are not the bright red color i'm used to seeing on other pics. they are more maroonish/brown.

:mad2: that's what i thought, it's a big piece and was only $50 so i jumped the gun thinking it was the LFS's crappy lights. oh well, i'm now 0 for 2 looking for superman monti :blown:

Looks like It could be Purple Haze Montipora, Not that bad of a find all In all!

Got to love those LFS, lol. I bought an acropora frag the other day at the LFS about 4 inches tall and about as big around as a cigar, he told me it was a Purple Monster.

Nice piece. Could be a purple haze. they normally have two tones of deep purple for the polyps and body, but then again yours is still acclimating, so it may still color up more.

You dont know yet, as the coral is obviously discolored. let it color up. It could be a super man, it could be a rainbow, etc.
