Good Afternoon:
Several Reefing Clubs (Reef Aquariums, not the other kind of reefing) have used your GAC. We are interested in possibly setting up a group buy where numerous members pitch in and buy a larger amount of GAC for the savings. We are obviously intending to use this submerged so we aren't interesting in any air-phase GACs.
We have a problem. Many of us run our tanks differently. Some of us run our GAC in canister filters where fast water movement makes the mesh size less important than the hardness/abrasion number. Others run their GAC passively and waterflow characteristics makes the mesh size much more important. I'm sure you can see the quandary we're in.
To help us decide how best to proceed further, please give the following information on your Coal Base Granular as it's possible we might need to purchase several different types:
Is it Bituminous coal, Lignite, or Anthracite coal?
Are the mesh sizes available U.S. Standard or Tyler Standard?
What is the Iodine number?
What is the Molasses number?
What is the Methylene Blue number?
What is the Hardness (or abrasion) number.
Thanks in Advance,
Curt

BTW....Coconut-Carbon is useless for us with the exception of filtering Chlorine in a RO/DI unit. Otherwise, I could get a huge shipment for free.
