Any DAN members out there?

Still a DAN member, but not sure why. Dive trip a year ago to bimini got me bent. The operator at dan couldn't seem to grasp the location even after spelling it to her 3 times. The supervisor at dan insisted that I go to a chamber in Miami. That would have been fine but the air ambulance service that dan insisted on wouldn't come until daylight (I started showing symptoms at 6pm). The doctor at the clinic had to plead with them for hours before they would authorize going to Nassau. It was a full 12 hours before I was in the tube. It took over a year to get dan to pay for my flight back to bimini, and my primary insurance (blue cross) covered everything else.

I'm a member with Standard, but will be upgrading to Preferred soon as I was picked up to be a volunteer diver for the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston. I'd be covered for the aquarium diving, but for off shore collections I'll want the extra insurance.. and peace of mind.

We're DAN members. Its a no brainer.

Would never dive without it. Also if you're interested, looks like a lion's maine jelly. Often confused with others such as egg yolk or even sea nettle, but usually the clearly defined scalloped edge is a give away.

I am a 15 year "dan pro member" but I also carry "dive assure", dive assure is actually a better insurance since it is primarily for insurance and becomes your primary insurer for dive accidents (and covers far more for less $$). I stay with dan also because of the work they do and all the fantastic things they have done for diving for so many years. Fortunately I have never had to use either insurer with well over a 1000 dives behind my mask using open circuit, and closed circuit systems.

Dan member here as well. Incredible organization. Was diving in the keys once on a liviboard and a guy got bent and Dan took care of everything.

Also in the event of an emergency once you call 911, or at the same time if multiple people have phones, be sure to call dan, even if you don't have their insurance they'll be able to guide you through the problem.
