My RBTA isn't dong so well.....It hasn't blown up in about three days and it is losing color. It is just over 2 yrs. and in my tank for 4 months now.....about a week ago a piece of its foot ripped during a water change but I didn't see any ill effects. It still formed nice round bubble tips no nothing.....When do I know that there is no hope for it and take it out of my tank....Also, if it starts breaking apart will it release toxins or something that will harm the other fish and corals??? Please help FAST...Regards

If you see it start to "melt" get it out fast. Yes it will release toxins that will harm your other stock or at least it won't do them any good. Then do a large water change. How did it rip its foot doing a water change?

What do you mean "melt." What will that look like???? Things coming off of it or just hanging low. During a water change i knocked over one the rocks it was attached to....it was locked onto to two of them.

When an anenome and many coral's die they turn to mush. Kind of like plastic or foam melting. Sorry I should have been more descriptive.

and......... they wreak something nasty.. the anemone will turn into a pile of goo.. if this happens be careful when removing it.. if you have a weak stomach get something to cover your face , the smell will make you want to vomit.. sorry to be so gross, but hey, its true..

is the pile of goo easily removable? or is it hard to get everything out because it falls apart? just curious.

Mine may have died two days ago. It crawled under the sand and I just found it today. WHat parameters should I be worried about? I too am not sure if I got it all because it shrunk so much I don't know if it's the whole thing or not!
