Any experienced tank drillers in soco?

It was super easy. I psyched myself up for this for days and it was 20x easier than I could've ever imagined. Just started it free hand and had zero problems. This was just a tester and I'm gonna drill my "real" holes in a little bit. Thanks for the help everyone and to Steve for the supplies.

Done and tank back painted too! I turned my speed down and torque down too. Worked like a charm.

-lots of running water
-take your time
-quality tools
-tape off the back side of where you are drilling
-lift drill often
-use gloves when working with glass and glass chips (learned the hard way during clean up!!

I got 3 holes out of the bit from BRS. It might be good for another few, but fresh bits usually work best.

I actually found it easier to do than drilling granite slabs.

What kind of paint did you use?

It does take patience to make sure you don't chip or crack your tank. If you're going to paint the back of your tank I would reccomend Krylon fusion for paint. That's what's I have used always when I paint tanks sticks great on glass.

I went to the ace hardware up on guerneville and got some rustoleum version of fusion, so that'll be perfect.

Also picked up a bunch of 1" and 3/4" PVC parts and fittings.

So yeah, If anyone wants a tank to practice on I've got a 40B that steve let me take that I would be more than happy to pass down the line if anyones interested. Just PM me
