Any experiences w/ Singh Ray Vari-N-Duo?

I know there's a lot of landscape shooters here than the other forums I frequent, so does anyone have any experience with the Vari-n-Duo? I currently have a 77mm B+W CPL and originally looking to supplement it w/ various ND filters. However I figured that would be a major pain to switch around and adjust on location when you only have seconds to catch the light. Something like the Vari-n-Duo would be a dream come true IF it truly performs. At $390 it's not bad at all. The question is- does it perform? Does anyone here use it by any chance?

here's the website: http://www.singh-ray.com/varinduo.html

Any other alternative suggestions are welcome. Thanks

check out cokin products. personally have been using the Z-Pro kit which fits many filters on the holder. it works great for landscape photography.

I use the cokins also. Usually just holding the filter in front, but I use the screw in holder when using long shutters. They also get into unusual shapes and forms that can work well in telephoto use.

I have always heard great things about Singh Ray filters. You just pay for them :( I have been slowly building up a collection of Lee 4x6 GND filters and a few ND filters that I just hand hold. Gives me a wide range of options also. I mostly shoot with GND filters but if I was doing more with ND filters I would pickup the Singh Ray also. I just like Sunrise/Sunsets better and opt for the GND. Good luck and post some shots.

Singh-Ray rocks. I don't have the vari-n-duo but I've got 4 split grads and the gold-n-blue polarizer.

The problem with Cokin is that their neutral density filters aren't neutral. They introduce color shifts. They're a cheap way to decide if it's something you want to do but not a great long term investment. I also don't use the screw on holder. I hand hold the filter(s) in front of the lens.
