Any gardeners out there?

Well as the name of the thread infers, are there any gardeners out there? If so I have like 30 lavender cuttings that should be rooted by the next meeting, they've already been in a propagation box for a couple of weeks. If so let me know and ill bring you some. I also have a a few herb cuttings. Lemongrass, Tri-color sage,and lemon balm. I have two lemongrasses ready to go and the others are cuttings that will prob be ready by the next meeting. I have irsis that need to go too. IDk what color they are but if you want to find out your welcome to them. And, (this is starting to get kinda boring i know) i have tons of seeds that ive traded with ppl online so if you want any seeds again let me know. Maybe we could do a trade for some easy corals? I also have quite a bit of LR rubble if anybody wants some, maybe to mount some corals on or something.

East African and Socotran succulents and Japanese maples for me. Occasionally a bonsai tree as well.

My wife is the gardener... I know she likes butterfly bushes and whatnot for the hummingbirds... I'll have to check and see if she has any lavender... Hmmm, or maybe I'm thinking of Lilacs that the hummingbirds like... I know she has Basil, thyme, rosemary, and chives... Not sure about the other herbs... Its kind of like me talking to her about coral...

I just purchased some cilantro, jalapino and tomato plants to grow my own salsa ingredients this summer and I will have a hard time leaving the cilanto alone till it spreads and grows some. I love to cook with it in tons of stuff not to mention its one of my bunnies favorite treats.
This year will be my first attempt at a real mini garden and I am looking foward to getting the kids involved. My tiny garden (20x40) is just a drop in the bucket to my mothers who goes full out with canning enouph food for the winter for all her family but I don't complain when I crack open the corn and beans!
She never grew herbs, typical southern meat,potatoes and grease fried fixins with a ton of salt as the only seasoning :lol:, but I am going to try my hand at a variety this summer other than the cilantro.

i'd love some lavendar! we just filled in the pool and are turning it into a big garden/courtyard area. the pond is getting poured today. can't wait!

You should put a Koi Pond in the garden that used to be your pool... lol

we are....partially. most of the shallow end is going to be the koi pond. the plan is to use the pool filter for the pond...the water will come through 4 "waterfalls" through the brick wall that's off to the side...then travel down a spillway or sluce into the pond in the shallow end. it all gets poured today!

btw, found a lady in halls/maynardville that has hundreds of koi and is giving away a bunch if anybody is interested.

just wish i could throw the pleco in there with them!

Will you be at the next meeting? If so ill bring you some (if they're rooted). Keep in mind they're just cuttings, not big plants... yet. Oh and for herbs i also have white horehound seedlings.

I would love to have any and herbs/irises/lavender plants that you'll give me.

We have a big garden and I'm thinking of putting in some plants around the other parts of the house as well. Unfortunately I can't spend any money and don't have much in the way of corals. I could give you a bunch of the only zoa that I've got but we'd have to talk about it because I saw a flatworm in my tank last night.

lol actually that list was just copied and pasted from my garden page on gardenweb. Ill post a new list with what i have later this afternoon when i get home. My garden is actually still in the building phase. Id rather start with actual plants though so really most of these seeds i don't want. Mel, are you sure you don't want anything?
