any good pre-made sumps out there ?

I'm in the process of setting up my tank and I'm either considering
having my sump built to my specifications or finding a good pre-made
sump that I can buy.

So my question is, is there any good pre-made sumps out there ? Looking for a good quality sump. I know having your sump built is a good way, but it takes time and effort trying to get your plan understood and if I can buy a good pre-made sump, why spend all my time thinking about it !

depends on what size you're looking for... you might be able to find a cheap used aquarium and use it... this could save you a lot of money... 10gal tanks new are <$20... add some acrylic and glue and you're still sub $50... way better than the $150 pre-mades...

I used two 10gal tanks for my 55tank... (10 for fuge and 10 for sump) works great... I made an overflow box in the tanks and they are connected via U-tube...

My new sump for my 125gal tank is a 55gal tank I drilled on the side to connect my pump (the rest was 1/4inch acrylic).
I got the 55gal tank free and the acrylic for 50% off b/c it had some scratches on the sheet...

southbay sumps at exoticfish.com. i bought 1 and love it. only $150 too, w/ overflow sock and baffles. simple but well made. there is another company that makes custom made to order sumps. i forget who they are. nice though. more pricey.

check out melevsreef.com he makes really nice "custom" sumps, but i do believe he said it was very expensive to ship them.

They all will do custom work and have standard models as well.

But IMO DIY is the best way to go. You can make it exactly how you want and its much much cheaper.
