Any high light zoas?

I would like to get some zoas that can fill in rock space around acro colonies. Would I be alright slowly raising them in the tank, or are there some kinds that prefer/are more tolerant of high levels of light? Whenever I place a new zoa 1/2 way up in my tank or higher it doesn't go well. I recently tried with a magician, and have tried one or two others in the past

i have zoas about 3" under water from the light 5x54 watt T5 yes (5) some like it some dont. if they dont like it they will adjust after time and start growing and coloring up very nice. the ones ive got up there are ones that were on sand bed and not really growing just maintaining since ive moved them up high theyve colored up more elaborately and are growing like mad.

just my 2 cents

The longer you keep the zoas under certain conditions (specially lower light) the longer you'll need to adapt them to the new conditions.
Go slow and you'll have them there without problems.
Keep in mind you need to see what's going on with the water flow also.
The changes are not only for the light, but you need to pay attention to everything in the system.
Again, go slow...

Awesome advice A. Grandis

1. I would be highly concerned with Allelopathy when trying to place zoanthid in close proximity or filling in around acros.

2. Zoanthids can and will adapt to most any type of lighting. But as AG stated above, the move must be gradual to prevent bleaching, polyp retraction or even mortality.

3. Also, listen to what the polyps tell you. If they are not happy they will tell you as you have already experienced. I always employ a zig zag method when this happens. 2 to 3 inches up and over, or 2 or 3 inches down and over.

Good luck.
