Any hope for my wrasse?

Hey all, I just recently received a Ruby Headed Fairy Wrasse two days ago from LiveAquaria, and he went into the tank very well. However, my Bluehead started picking on him rather quickly. I thought it was just showing its dominance, but since yesterday, the new wrasse has gone missing. Could it just be hiding from the Bluehead Wrasse? Does anyone think it'll come out in the next couple of days?

Thanks for the help in advance!

From LA about the blue headed wrasse.

The Bluehead Wrasse should be housed in a 75 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rocks for hiding and a sandy substrate to burrow into at night. Larger, gregarious tankmates are recommended since the Bluehead Wrasse will demonstrate territorial behavior and harass new additions to the aquarium. If possible, the Bluehead Wrasse should be the last fish added to the aquarium.

Well, first, you should have quarantined. Second, you should always use an acclimation box with fairy (and flasher) wrasses.

Using an acclimation box for adding any new wrasse to an established wrasse. Thalassoma species are quite notorious for their aggression toward new fish, particularly other wrasses.

Yes, as I do not know common names all that well, I should have read the initial question more carefully. Thalassoma bifasciatum is unlikely to tolerate the addition of any wrasse, especially in a smallish tank. I stick by the original suggestion of always quarantining.
