Any idea what dug this tunnel in my sand?

Found this tunnel in my sand. Tank is still cycling, no livestock added. Just curious what sort of hitchhiker may have done this.

i too would guess spaghetti worm. I have lots of those in my sand and not a bristle worm in sight. (yes I check the tank at night too). Good for you, just means you have a healthy sandbed.

Well I saw the thing and it looks to me like it's a spaghetti worm.

Then why did you ask if you already knew the answer? Without actually seeing the culprit all any of us can do is a wild guess, Especially since you are currently still cycling?

Well it seems pretty obvious, I asked because I didn't know and thought maybe this was something others would recognize. Once I had a few suggestions and figured it out, but I hadn't ever heard of a spaghetti worm before it was suggested.

Ah, understood. But it wasn't obvious to us that you knew or had an idea before from your first post. If you had said some kind of worm or given a description of what you saw it would have been helpful. I've also seen lots of different critters that can make that kind of burrow in the sand against the glass, so it could have been pretty much anything.

I didn't have any idea before my first post. I also hadn't seen the critter at that point. The first reply suggested spaghetti worm, I looked them up and eventually saw it and figured that's what it was.

Yep seems like a good one to have. I've also got some asterina stars from the live rock. Sounds like a bit of a split whether people like them or hate them.
