I have been using coral pro salts.. I want to switch to Instant Ocean since its more cost effective.. any problems with switching? I have a 90 gallon with 1 tang and a couple coral frags

You don't have to use RC, but it wouldn't hurt. You'll just have to monitor things like Alkalinity, Calcium & Magnesium and go from there. (regardless of which salt you use)

Can ask how come? I've been using reef crystals for 4 months and I don't have issues but I have thought about switching to coral pro. I hear the alk is super high with that salt. Reef crystals I'm at 10ish alk ca is 450 and mag is around 1450. I don't think I'm going to switch but I'd like to know what you thought of coral pro.

No problems. I switched from IO standard to Fritz. Just implement it in water changes. Match salinity and measure your parameters and you'll be golden.

No prob to change salt, just keep in mind two things:
The mix up ranges may change. Example if you went with REDSEA CORAL PRO, it mixes high in the ranges which may throw off your dosing depending on water change frequency.

Just make sure you watch your numbers for a bit after change and adjust where necessary.

I use RED SEA PRO, it was worth the extra price as I now dose less between changes.

Also, always mix up the dry salt in the bucket/bag to ensure even distribution of components, and that goes for every brand.
