Is there any mods I should do before starting my JBJ 12g Nano?

Most people upgrade the pump to a maxijet 900.

Out with the Bio Balls.

Use the overflow piece jbj sends in the box. Takes care of the surface scum.

Reverse the fans in the hood to blow the other way. Helps with the temps a bunch IMO.

Maxi Jet 600 or 900 as mentioned. Also helps to reduce the temp.

should I take out the ceramic rings, and the sponge blocks. I was going to replace the sponge blocks with LR rubble since the sponge blocks will build up nitrates.

Is the Hydor FLO available from DRs foster and smith?

Depending on if the back will be accessible after it's setup, you may want to cut the black vinyl away from the center chamber in case you want to add a fuge back there.
