Any news about the Nanostreams yet?

The best I can say is late September and there could be further delays so I cannot promise anything but it does appear on track for late September. Tunze does not sell direct except for spare parts and no one is taking preorders yet to my knowledge.

Thanks Mike.

Are the Nanostreams actually black, like they appear in the pictures? I have been looking everywhere for truly black powerheads. I just love the look of these, and the magnetic mount is so nice.

I haven't had one to play with and the last time I was in Germany, only one working unit existed. I can't give an answer at this time but I doubt it will be an issue.

I was under the impression that we could run the 6025 and 6045 on a wavemaker like a RedSea. Is this the case?

Thanks!

No, it needs to run a minimum of 5-15 minutes between off and on cycles. I am still waiting on official word on that but it takes a while to get spinning in the correct direction and would be very noisy and possibly break on a very short interval wavemaker.

Roger,
Be sure to keep us updated on who will be selling these in the US first and when they are supposed to come out. Thanks.

I hope there isn't going to be the usual "OUT OF STOCK" messages at all the online retialers. Will Tunze be able to keep up with demand with the automated assembly? Or will there still be a lot of manual labour involved in the assembly?

Could someone please post key specs for the nanostreams. For some reason pdf files lock up my puter. Flow volumes and recommended tank applications etc.

thanks in advance for help

Assembly will be very automated- still done in Germany though. Initially the release will be small, maybe 100-200 of each pump. This is just to be sure that there are no big flaws, we find them when we only have a limited number of pumps to take back and then more should come out. In general the backorders are getting better with everything due to better production management and more automation. Skimmers and waveboxes are still a problem but at least in the States most everything else should be in stock in a couple weeks.

aquadepot.com says pricing is not decided yet and that they'll be available between Oct 2006 and Jan 2007.

It is up to the dealers if and when they want to take preorders but they will all get them within a couple days of each other.

The 6025 really uses closer to 6W but basically, you can see from most pump brands that the lower flow pumps are not very efficient and the highest flow pumps are also not very efficient. There is a minimum amount of power to keep a pump spinning at the bottom end and at the top end you get in to big coils with high resistance.
