Any problem with placing a Teardrop Maxima on sandbed?

Hey guys and gals!

It seems that my Maxima has grown too large to be placed on my rockwork anymore so I was wondering if it was going to be a problem if I placed it on the sandbed. Should I be placing a small rock between the sandbed and clam?

I have a small Dersa on the sandbed that is growing like mad with no problems. I just worry about the Maxima because I have literately THOUSANDS of bristle worms.

Thanks in advance. ;)

If the sand is shallow the clam will attach to the glass and be just fine....as long as the light is intense enough at the bottom.

Some may disagree with me but we have done some testing with bristle worms. In most cases they will not bother a healthy clam but if there is not enough food for them, then they will go after what they can to survive.

Thanks for the tips guys!

I ended up placing a medium sized frag cement disk between the clam and sand bed. Hopefully this will work out.

I feed my tank heavily so I don't think I will run into a problem with bristle worms going hungry.

Thanks again! :D
