Any problems with ocean blends 2 part yet?

I have been using it for about 3-4 months now and my chemistry had been pretty stable at about 440 and 10.5dkh. After 3 weeks of not testing its had swung to 475 cal and 7.7 dkh. I had been dosing 60ml a day of each part and dripped kalk mixed at 2 tsp per gallon. I didn't test for so long because I thought I finally had a dosing schedule that worked, it seems if the additive was balanced than I would expect both cal/alk to drop or both to rise but cal went way up and alk went way down. Are there any reports of problems. I'm not sure its the 2 part but I haven't changed anything else. My mag is at 1350. I may be going back to ESV.

Hi,

We haven't had any complaints on the Ocean Blend. It seems like a really good product. I have a feeling it could be the salt change. Not that Oceanic is bad, just a different chemistry and that could possibly throw things out of wack. Oceanic seems like a good salt so far, so probably just need to readjust your levels for a while as you convert over to Oceanic Salt.

thanks

I haven't tested newly mixed Oceanic but from what you've seen are they all mixing up with acceptable cal/alk levels?

I can't remember the alk test, but I remember the calcium was testing higher then Instant Ocean, so more calcium could lower your alk level.

Hi, You may be overdosing the Kalk and driving the alk low. Make sure the pH doesn;t go too high when you;re dosing the kalk. Hope this helps, JOHNNY
