Any relation between Asterina stars and Blue Linckia survival?

I have read how difficult it is to keep a blue linckia sea star, where a well established aquarium plays a big role, and some people have had success keeping them alive. Does the presence of asterina stars (whether wanted or not) indicate that conditions may also be favorable to keeping a blue linckia alive, or are the two completely unrelated? Not that anyone wants to admit lack of success, but has anyone had a lot of asterina stars in their tank, yet still have blue linckias fail to thrive?

The two are completely different in asterinas feeding off pretty much anything and linckia living solely on biofilm and sponges.

However, some people have reported linckia feeding off of asterina stars and having success with keeping them in tank heavily populated by the stars.
