You are correct, and correct.
The reactor you linked to might be a bargain if it came with a tank and regulator/solenoid, but when you add the cost of those nec. items it will be just as much as a Korallin setup. Which is tried and true. Don't forget about the cost of media, which isn't much but adds to the startup cost.

Every Reactor needs nice/good needle valve but its not nessary

But i have use 3 or 4 valves they have all been the same to me

I like the cheap one doc fosters sells but most people dont

I have mine set up right now with out but i will add a controler as a fail safe over the fail safe ... just so i can look and see the the output is at 6.8 or lower to about 6.5 ......

when you get you reator runing what every you buy you need to cheak your tank ph and dkh every day and ajust you output to get your dkh right ....

If your dkh is low add more output ... then you have to add more co2 to get your output ph at 6.8 ...

if you dkh is high you lower you output and then lower you co2


I would just look out for a used one i payed about 260 for mine shipped with a co2 tank reg and the reactor ... off of the sell adding here on reef central
