Any suggestions on how to lower the water level for a wavebox?

My display tank has about 3/4" clearance to the lip around the tank and it looks like I should get a 1" wave. Should I take out every other tooth in the overflows to lower the level a bit? Any other suggestions? I would rather not reduce flow from the sump if I can help it.

You've got a few options IMO.

You could reduce flow.

You could remove a few teeth to drop the level.

You can adjust the wave height to work with what you have.

You should be able to pick the one that you're most comfortable with.

Cheers

I'm thinking of using a dremel to cut out all the teeth and put a screen over the square hole. Hopefully that will drop the tank about 1/2"

I would set it up first before doing anything that drastic. It would be preferred to use a router and just make the teeth deeper.
