Im gonna just go with no, but there may be one I dont know about. Also can your grandparents take care of a boxfish? because in a 30 galon tank any chemicals that the boxfish released would be highly concentrated and need to be dealt with immediatly.

Well my granddad really likes boxfish he saw one in a LFS and nearly bought it but it said it wasnt reef safe. I could teach them how to keep it also if it gets to big it can go in my tank

Sounds good I guess, but all boxfish I know of need at least 100 gal to be comfortable even at a young age.

There's a lot of fish that I really like, but I know that it's probably not a good idea to put them in my tank. I agree with Mr Eel. I think avoiding the boxfish is the best idea.

A boxfish would probably not be the best idea. They get well over a foot large, are not good reef fish, are usually difficult to care for and shouldn't be kept with species that aren't very mellow, and can excrete toxins that harm other fish. There are other small colorful fish that would be great in a 30 gallon.
