There are a lot of variables, I would generally say 3/4" will be the maximum possible.
1) Make sure the power supply is set to 24V, the newest power supplies are 24V only, but older ones have jumpers and can be set 12-24V, 1 jumper is installed, usually 18V and 5 are in a baggy. I have not checked recently which model power supply is included but in general we used the jumpers with wave boxes and may still, so you could adjust wave height.
2) Make sure the wave tuning is optimal, a perfect sea saw, if it is sloshy or two waves, it is not tuned to the optimal single wave frequency.
3) Your wave will always be shorter with an end overflow, the energy spills into the overflow and is lost, you can reduce this loss with a durso pipe that brings the water level up to just about even with the teeth of the overflow. Just a small drop for surface skimming, but very close.
