Anybody been to Life Oceanic lately?

i was there last saturday

if your going for coral IMO its not worth it(VERY little) chances are you have more in your tanks<-- they are new still so they say they plan to carry lots of stuff. If you want a fish or some rock its the best price for fiji anywhere around.

the fish that I saw seemed nice. I saw some problem fish but with a warehouse wholesale style place I expected that. Nice staff that I met.

not sure I would make a trip there again until they get more corals or unless I need rock.

I was there on sat as well, I got some nice rock. To answer your cured question IT SMELLs so I put it in a seperate tank with PH and Skimmer and thats where its staying for a while.

They had a bunch of the Tonga Branch. The stuff is heavy too.

Thanks for the review, was most of the LR cured or raw?

well both. i grabbed some pieces that seemed rather new(raw) and others you could tell had been there while. like said above the tonga was very heavy but hey its tonga what else would it be?
the fiji was very light IMO. i got a HUGE piece over a foot long and a foot tall easy that only came in at 13 pounds. for a rock that size and nice i would have hit nearly 100.00 bucks in most stores.
i paid 39.00

the shapes are really nice. (bonus)life was minimal but most had nice coraline.

March meeting

March meeting

Note that our March meeting will be held there, so if you are interested in checking it out and can wait a couple of weeks, we will see you there!

When is the meeting - I just found this (tampa bay) forum, and would like to meet people in the area. (I am kind of new to this.

I bought live rock from life oceanic before they were sold. Very nice rock at a great price.

Went down today and purchased 100lbs or figi lr.Very honest and great service. Not alot of coral selection, but you can beat $2.99 for figi.Lots of fish too.Overall very good to do buisness with and according to them going to start carrying more along the lines of coral.

I too went down today and picked up a little over 100lbs of Fiji along with a few .lbs of Tonga branch and Tonga shelf, and I would have to agree with jtasmul1, very honest and great service. Heââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s only had the place since the middle of January and he definitely has the room to add more livestock (corals that is, I assume it may take time to work the distributors), although he does have quite a fish selectionââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦Definitely worth the trip, if nothing else to see another store, and talk it up with the guy heââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s very personable (but what would you expect heââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s a hobbyist like us) Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll make the trip again when I am ready to add more stuff to the tank, after all he did treat me right on the rockââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦

Its like 15 mins south of SR60 & I75.
I made it from Spring Hill in like 1hr 15 mins. They were out of the 2.99 rock. They said they were getting more today. Got some nice tonga shelf rock.
The owner was great, very willing to spend time with you.
